Born in Brasília, Victor Dias Rodrigues is a Brazilian documentary filmmaker and editor based between New York City and São Paulo. Raised across Brazil, Switzerland, Japan, Costa Rica, and the United States, he is fluent in Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish. Growing up across cultures shaped his fascination with the ways stories can transcend language, geography and cultures. Victor believes in documentary’s power to bridge cultures and illuminate our shared humanity. Victor has collaborated with acclaimed directors including Joe Berlinger, Karim Amer, Jehane Noujaim, Bruno Barreto, and Vikram Gandhi on documentaries and series for HBO, Netflix, PBS, and other major platforms. His recent credits include the HBO docuseries The Man Will Burn, Netflix's Idaho Murders: College Nightmare, his first theatrical feature 963 Dias, and the New York Emmy-winning Her Fight: His Name. His documentary All Riders premiered on PBS POV. In the edit room, Victor is drawn to finding structure and human connection within complex subjects. Whether working with decades of archival material or intimate stories of people fighting for change, he approaches nonfiction with curiosity, empathy, and a deep respect for the audience. He believes the most powerful documentaries do more than inform: they move us.
